after the examination of the fifty photos, the most voted ones by the users of ImmigrazioneOggi, and of the works realized by eleven photographers non EU citizens, assigned the two official awards of the Contest:

First Prize
Medal of the Head of State and money award of 1.500 euro
Mimmo Pastorelli

Reason:
Attesa by Mimmo Pastorelli is an evocative image which deals, in an artistic way, with the eternal matter of the nomadism and of the casting out, themes of great topicality and of huge social impact.
The choice to realize a b&w picture gives to the two little guys, defenceless, alone, “armed” with an accordion in the railway station of Taranto (Italy) a big emotional charge that muffles even the most hostile feelings and that places the observer to a preliminary solidality both visual and emotional, important condition to start a positive approach of inclusion.
At the same time it stimulates a bigger and more rational commitment to build concrete ways of scholastic and social integration.

Fatima El Harki

Reason:
La luce degli occhi by Fatima El Harki, taken inside the railway station of Porretta Terme (Italy), picks three “different” smiles in a very spontaneous moment and it succeeds in giving an extremely positive message, transmitted by the image of a baby which is devoid of prejudices and which does not feel the “difference”.
